This site is a tribute to Peter Attree. He is a much loved Husband, Father, Grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will always be with us in our hearts and remembered through shared memories. He was married to my mum Mary for 51 years after they met while both teaching at the same school. Dad always struggled with his health, particularly in later years but that never stopped him from doing the things he loved.
Dad loved his hobbies and encouraging others to get involved. He ran Go-Kart and Hovercraft clubs with some of the kids he taught at school, both building and racing them. He was always a keen shooter from a young age and after moving to Devon would still travel up to Kent for weekends at the range with his old gun club. A keen model builder of both boats and planes. Dad was a diligent engineer and skilled in many areas, he always had a project on the go ( they sometimes lasted years...…), he was always ready with a tip or to lend a hand and was a font of knowledge; from the right tool for the right job to how to do things properly yet keep it simple.
Dad had a wicked and sometimes inappropriate sense of humour, he loved making others laugh or sharing a joke or funny story. Of late he would delight in sharing these through email and would sit there chuckling away when he was reading them. As a family we miss his stories and jokes and would please like to ask for people to share their memories and stories that they either had with dad or were told by him.
We were very grateful for the expertise of the Devon air ambulance that supported Dad, so rather then flowers we would like to try and raise some money for this amazing service that supports so many people.
A much missed and loved brother and Uncle.
Will miss you Pete I didn't see much of you over the years but I have very fond memories of spending time in Charlton and of course that trip to the range! Rest in peace, love from Rich and the family X
